This is a unique opportunity for the right person to assist the General Manager of this well established contracting company so he can oversee a large project recently won by the Group.

The company provides a wide range of maintenance and construction services throughout New Zealand and has enjoyed a strong track record of success for the last 19 years.

You will report directly to the GM, assisting him and his Divisional Managers on a day to day basis with the 6 different divisions that make up the company. Your focus is to lighten the work load of this GM assisting him to support the divisions to meet sales, project & profit targets. Responsibilities will include; estimates, quotes & tenders for new work, customer relationships & sales, operational planning & management of contracts to meet targets, monitoring & reporting on performance, and contribution to strategic planning & annual budgeting.

To be successful in this role you will have have a proven track record in contracting, and preferably in managing a business unit in infrastructure, building maintenance or construction sectors. You will also need; excellent leadership and influencing skills, sound understanding of financials, business development & negotiation skills, and a high level of business acumen to take carry out this role effectively.
