A Gold Member of the Australasian Corrosion Association, our abrasive blasting and protective coatings services are undertaken throughout New Zealand, Australia and the South Pacific. Our extensive range of mobile plant allows us to carry out field operations anywhere.

Site Works
We operate site crews throughout Australia and New Zealand, with specialised mobile equipment suitable for almost any project. Our sites range from transmission towers in the pristine Fiordland National Park to structural steel on public hospitals in New Zealand to Esso Australia's 14 offshore platforms in the Bass Straight and highway bridges for the RTA of New South Wales.
Blast Shops
TBS operates two purpose built blast and paint facilities at Rotorua and New Plymouth. The Rotorua facility specialises in heavy vehicle refurbishment for the logging and transport sectors, whilst the New Plymouth facility is able to handle a full range of projects.
TBS Coatings' facility at New Plymouth is the largest, located on a 10 ha site, with two grit rooms, five paint shops and a specialised thermal metal spray facility. In total the factory facility covers more 2,500m2. This facility has the capability to handle any project and has significant lay-down area.
Towers
TBS Farnsworth holds "Live Line" accreditation and carries out maintenance blasting and painting of live transmission towers in both New Zealand and Australia. The Company's specialist team of abseilers also works on maintenance painting of container cranes and other high structures.
Full Containment Methods
Our experience over the years has enabled us to enhance work procedures and methods that have resulted in improvements in waste management and containment during abrasive blasting operations. This is a significant benefit when working on lead paint removal projects and when working around sensitive process control equipment. Furthermore, clients project costs are minimised and production downtime reduced, particularly during major plant shutdowns.
