Through our high quality workmanship and strong relationships with our clients we now hold preferred contractor status with a number of key clients, including major

Due to the nature of our work and clients, our activities are often based on private property where there is a requirement to work under strict resource consent conditions and maintain regular communication with local residents. We pride ourselves on our ability to develop positive and enduring relationships with stakeholders and regulatory agencies, which has enabled us to continue to provide our services efficiently and with minimal disruption to the public and the environment.
The TBS Group management system provides the Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental systems for all aspects of our operations.
The system is in general compliance with ISO 9001, AS/NZS 4801, and ISO 14001 and is audited to tertiary status under the ACC’s Workplace Safety Management Practices programme. All senior staff are trained in the key aspects of the OMS and specific areas are covered on a regular basis with field staff during pre-start meetings and in our safety committee meetings.
Our Quality Management philosophy is based upon the premise that quality is built in through a combination of highly skilled and dedicated staff, the freedom and support to encourage innovation, and a robust management approach.
By providing an environment and forum where the collective knowledge and experience of all employees is harnessed, we are able to ensure consistent high levels of performance and continuous improvement.
To ensure that we remain abreast with industry standards our Operations Managements System is designed to be in general compliance with ISO 9001 and our workforce has been trained in all aspects of our quality management processes to ensure that we consistently provide high quality services to our clients.
As evidence of the effectiveness of our quality management system we are a certified contractor under Painting Contractors Certification Programme which requires that we comply with certain minimum requirements, including most of those stipulated under ISO9001.
Health, Safety and Environment Management
Superior HSE performance is achieved through management commitment, leadership, continuous improvement of management systems and an ongoing commitment to training.
This approach is supported by our integrated Operations Management System. Our safety performance is recognised through our Tertiary Level status under the ACC Workplace Safety Management Programme as well as our accreditation and 86% score as a category 3 contractor under the Impac PREQUAL system.
As evidence of our commitment to all aspects of health and safety, we were awarded the Safeguard New Zealand Best Overall Contribution to Workplace Health and Safety in 2010 for our initiatives on the Auckland Harbour Bridge Box Girder Strengthening Project.
Protecting the environment is also critical to us. Management and monitoring of activities is incorporated into our project planning and activity tasks at the start. This ensures that we achieve excellence in environmental management performance.
We put significant time and resources into finding innovative methods of containment to reduce any impact we may have on the surrounding environment and to maintain full compliance with any resource consents that are in place. We foster a community/stakeholder consultative process where appropriate, and maintain excellent constructive relationships with local regulatory agencies.
