Our experienced workforce encompasses many different trades and specialties including professional engineers, coatings inspection and structural maintenance supervisors, estimators, industrial cleaning experts, skilled trades people and semi-skilled labourers.

Our executive management team consists of a core group of professionals with significant expertise and knowledge in their area of business. They are responsible for driving the strategic vision of the business and ensuring field operations are run efficiently and safely.

Darryl Abotomey

TBS Group Director and Bapcor Ltd CEO

Darryl is Managing Director and CEO of Bapcor Limited, owner of TBS Group Ltd and a director on the TBS Group Board of Directors. He is also Chairman of Bapcor Finance Pty Ltd.

Darryl has more than 10 years’ experience in the automotive industry and extensive knowledge in business acquisitions, mergers and strategy.  Previous Director and Executive roles have been with Repco, Paperlinx, Amcor, Signcraft and CPI.  He holds a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in accounting and economics from the University of Melbourne.

Greg Fox

TBS Group Director and Bapcor Ltd Chief Financial Officer

Greg has more than 25 years’ experience in the automotive, industrial and public accounting sectors.

Greg joined Bapcor as Chief Financial Officer in 2012 with responsibility for finance, legal, business services, company secretarial and plays a key role in strategic initiatives as well as serving as a Director on the TBS Group Board of Directors. Greg was previously Chief Financial Officer at Atlas Steels and at Plexicor, which was a major supplier to the automotive industry.

Greg also held various senior financial positions with Amcor after commencing his career as a Chartered Accountant.

Mat has over 15 years’ experience in the automotive, industrial and public accounting sectors. Mat commenced as Executive General Manager – Development within Bapcor in February 2016 and previously was the General Manager – Commercial of the ANA business. Mat is also a Director on the TBS Group Board of Directors.

Prior, he held other roles with Amcor, General Motors and Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu. Mat is responsible for the development, co-ordination and consolidation of all strategies and plans for the expansion of Bapcor.

Mark Rich

As the Chief Executive Officer of TBS Group, Mark is ultimately responsible for the service delivery to all TBS clients. Mark is a highly experienced Chief Executive Officer with a proven track record delivering superior performance in competitive industrial and technical environments throughout New Zealand and Australia.

Mark joined the company in June 2017 and brings over 30 year’s extensive experience in technical, industrial services to building and engineering construction, industrial, mining and resources, manufacturing and special events markets.

Previously Mark held the role of Chief Executive Officer for the Australasian Rental Group responsible for Hirepool in New Zealand and Onsite Rental Group in Australia and was Managing Director of Kalmar Equipment Oceania.

Graham Matthews - TBS Group

Graham is a Director of the TBS Group with peerless in-depth leadership experience and knowledge in delivering many aspects of work on complex structures and infrastructure projects.

Graham joined TBS in 1988 and was promoted to General Manager of TBS Farnsworth in 1992 and remained in this role until early 2011 when had a change in focus and moved into the new role as Engineering Director for the Group. During his time with TBS, Graham has played key role in building the diverse asset management and contracting services organisation that is the TBS Group.

Steve Martin - TBS Group

Steve joined TBS in 2014 with more than 30 years’ experience in the maintenance and construction of infrastructure assets in New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific.

His focus is on developing high performing teams and collaborative working arrangements in niche markets. Steve’s experience includes oil and gas, utility services, earthworks, pavements, land development, demolitions, inner city development, airports, ports and underground services.

Returning to NZ after 7 years in Australia, Steve joined TBS Group as General Manager of TBS Farnsworth Ltd to consolidate and extend the service offering to major infrastructure asset owners.

Bruce Hodgson

Joining TBS in late 2017, Bruce is a qualified quantity surveyor and has experience in the Oil, Gas, and Geothermal sector, having been employed as Project and Commercial Director on major projects in quasi-government and private enterprise in the central North Island and Taranaki.

Bruce worked for Worley Parsons and most recently has returned to Taranaki after establishing Nikau Environmental and Demolition, a family owned business in Australia.

Mike Flood-Smith - TBS Group

Mike has over 20 years of civil contracting experience in infrastructure maintenance and construction. He has worked across a broad range of service delivery contracts in both New Zealand and the South Pacific region ranging in value from $300,000 to in excess of $100 million.

For 10 years Mike was General Manager of Delta Corporation, New Zealand’s only independent importer and supplier of bitumen to the New Zealand Road Industry. Throughout this time Mike developed significant experience in international trade and relationship building flowing then to downstream customer service and operational efficiency in the domestic market.

Mike now leads TBS Remcon where he will apply this same broad range of experience in delivering quality customer service in the remediation of ‘leaky, understrength and end-of-life buildings and structures

Martin Dold - TBS Group

Martin Dold

Martin has over 20 years operational and technical experience progressed within steel and mining operations,  resource extraction, and recycling operations. Martin began his career in process and technical roles before moving into supervisory and management roles within industrial and manufacturing operations.

He joined TBS’ refractory business in 2013, initially as Operations Manager, then progressed to General Manager in 2015. Martin strives to deliver cost effective, quality, and safe solutions for his clients and places a strong emphasis on relationship management to ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded.  Martin testifies that part of TBS’ strength is their experience and knowledge base that offers an in-depth understanding of the majority of refractory installations. This knowledge assists clients when designing new installations or implementing ongoing maintenance programs for their refractory installation.
